I always say, it depends on the use and your comfort level. I like modern bedrooms. I have allergies. The Allergist told me years ago, "Put everything away in the bedroom". They are dirt, dust and pollen catchers. You spend eight hours there, breathing in those things. Other rooms, depends on the function and comfort level. Is the living room being used or viewed? You have to be comfortable. It is your home after all.
